Upcoming Bollywood Movie Releases In April 2026: The fourth month of the new calendar is about to begin. As schools and colleges gear up for a long summer vacation, filmmakers will put their best foot forward to entertain the audience who step out with children and family members to the nearest theatre.

While Priyadarshan and Akshay Kumar bring the much-awaited Bhooth Bangla, a horror-comedy, Adivi Sesh and Mrunal Thakur’s Dacoit is the next big actioner. Take a look at the Bollywood theatrical releases in April 2026.

Dacoit

Dacoit was scheduled to release on March 19, but the makers postponed it to April 10 to avoid a clash with Dhurandhar 2 and Toxic: A Fairytale for Grown-Ups. The film starring Adivi Sesh, Mrunal Thakur and Anurag Kashyap promises an electrifying cinematic experience, seamlessly blending high-octane action, raw emotion, and gripping drama. With the fiery chemistry between the lead pair, the film is poised to make a lasting impact. Marking Shaneil Deo’s directorial debut, Dacoit is produced by Supriya Yarlagadda, co-produced by Suniel Narang, and presented by Annapurna Studios. Shot simultaneously in Hindi and Telugu, the film’s story and screenplay have been jointly crafted by Adivi Sesh and Shaneil Deo.

Bhooth Bangla

Bhooth Bangla marks Priyadarshan’s return to Hindi cinema after a decade. He teams up with Akshay Kumar for the horror-comedy that draws inspiration from Indian mythology and black magic, including ancient texts like the Vedas and the Mahabharata. The film also stars Wamiqa Gabbi, Paresh Rawal, Tabu, Rajpal Yadav and Jisshu Sengupta. Bhooth Bangla releases in theatres on April 10. The trailer is expected to launch in the coming week.

Ginny Wedss Sunny 2

Avinash Tiwary and Medha Shankr’s Ginny Wedss Sunny 2 is releasing in theatres on April 24. The film is a light-hearted rom-com. It is a spiritual sequel to Vikrant Massey and Yami Gautam’s Ginny Weds Sunny, a 2020 Netflix film. The rom-com also stars Lillete Dubey, Sudhir Pandey, Govind Namdev, Gopi Bhalla, Nayani Dixit, Vishwanath Chatterjee, and Rohit Chaudhary. The film promises a fun-filled and joyous ride. Ginny Wedss Sunny 2, presented by Zee Studios and Soundrya Production, is produced by Vinod Bachchan and Umesh Kumar Bansal. It is written and directed by Prasshant Jha.

Mercy

Mercy navigates the sensitive subject of passive euthanasia and offers a deeply moving exploration of compassion, duty, and the blurred lines of legal morality. It is a relevant film as Harish Rana, who had been in a vegetative state for over 13 years, became the first individual permitted passive euthanasia by the Supreme Court of India. Starring Adil Hussain, Raj Vasudeva and Niharica Raizada, Mercy, directed by Mitul Patel, releases on April 24.
