If reports are to be believed, Thalapathy Vijay’s film Jana Nayagan was earlier scheduled to release in October 2025, but the makers took time to complete the production work and it was decided to release on January 9 this year. However, the film could not be released on that date as it was still awaiting clearance from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC). The release of the film has not been confirmed yet and the new date is expected to be announced only after the makers complete the certification process. Let us tell you that both Jan Nayakan and Toxic are films produced by KVN Productions. The banner has other projects already lined up for release, like KD: The Devil releasing on April 30 and Toxic on June 4. In such a situation, the release of Jan Nayakan can be extended till June or July. Some reports also say that the makers are considering releasing the film around Vijay’s 52nd birthday (June 22). Let us tell you that due to repeated delays in the release of the film in theatres, its OTT deal is in danger. According to the report of Valai Pechu, the digital premiere deal of the film has also been cancelled, due to which it has suffered a loss of crores. The digital rights of the film were bought by Amazon Prime Video for Rs 121 crore.

Jana Nayakan, directed by H Vinoth, is the story of Vetri Kondan, a former police officer who later turns criminal. He adopts a little girl named Viji and raises her to be strong and self-reliant, even encouraging her to pursue a career in the army despite her fears. It is believed that this film is a remake of Bhagwant Kesari, in which Nandamuri Balakrishna acted. Apart from Vijay, the film stars Pooja Hegde, Bobby Deol, Mamita Baiju, Gautam Vasudev Menon and Prakash Raj in lead roles. Its budget is around Rs 300 crore.
