Aditya Uppal on Dhurandhar 2 being called ‘propaganda’ film

Speaking exclusively to us,  shared his thoughts about Dhurandhar The Revenge being called a ‘propaganda’ film. The actor expressed that it’s impossible to have everyone agree on the same thing in a country with large population. He feels that there will always be different opinions, and that’s completely fair.

“However, the intent of the film is pure, it has been made with sincerity and honesty. Even if some people interpret certain aspects differently, that’s their perspective and it should be respected. The majority of the audience has appreciated the film and understands that while it is inspired by true events, it is still a cinematic adaptation. I would just say that before calling it propaganda, people should watch it with an open mind,” said Aditya.

The actor further told Zoom, “Only then can they truly understand the intent behind the story and the effort put in by the entire team, especially Mukesh Chhabra and Aditya, without whom this film and character wouldn’t have been possible.”

Reflecting on his character and the film, Aditya shared that Dhurandhar wasn’t planned as two separate parts. It was one story that eventually got divided because of its length.

“In Part 1, even though Omar Haider had fewer dialogues and a limited presence, the foundation of the character was being built. In Part 2, the audience gets to see his full potential – his intelligence, emotional depth, and strength. That’s why the love and response this time have been phenomenal,” he mentioned.

On a concluding note, Aditya expressed that the journey from being a ‘subtle presence’ to becoming a ‘driving force’ has been special for him. Produced by B62 Studios and JioStudios, Dhurandhar The Revenge clashed with Pawan Kalyan’s Ustaad Bhagat Singh on March 19.
