PSL 2026: Peshawar Zalmi registered a memorable win in the third match of Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2026. In this match played at Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore, Rawalpindi Pindies, batting first, scored 214 runs for 4 wickets in 20 overs. In reply, Peshawar Zalmi achieved the target by scoring 218 runs for 5 wickets in 19.1 overs and won by 5 wickets. This victory was special because no batsman of Peshawar Zalmi scored a half-century, yet the team chased the target easily. This is also Zalmi’s biggest successful run chase till date.
Rawalpindi put a big score on the board
Rawalpindi had a great start in the match. Yasir Khan played an aggressive inning of 83 runs in 46 balls, which included 7 fours and 6 sixes. Mohammad Rizwan also scored 41 runs. After this Kamran Ghulam contributed 37 runs. Daryl Mitchell scored 23 runs and Sam Billings scored 18 runs to take the team to a big score. On the other hand, Ali Raza took 2 wickets in the bowling of Peshawar Zalmi. Apart from these, Aamir Jamal and Aaron Hardy got 1 wicket each.
Babar Azam’s team did wonders
But this target proved to be small in front of Babar Azam’s team. Zalmi also had a strong start while chasing the target. The team scored 62 runs without losing any wicket in the powerplay. Mohammad Haris scored 47 runs on 28 balls and Babar Azam added 39 runs. After this, Kusal Mendis played a quick inning of 31 runs in 17 balls.
In the middle order, Michael Bracewell scored unbeaten 35 runs in 17 balls, which ensured the team’s victory. Apart from these, Abdul Samad scored 33 runs in just 11 balls, which included 4 sixes. Then Aamir Jamal led the team to victory by scoring 17 runs in 5 balls in the last overs. That means no batsman could reach the 50-run mark, yet the team’s partnerships and aggressive batting made the chase easy.
