Rani Mukerji On Actresses Choosing Family Over Films
In a chat with Bombay Times, said that it feels like she is beginning a new phase in her career. She added that she no longer looks the same as she did in her earlier films. With her daughter Adira turning 10, the actress now has more time to focus on work and is eager to reinvent herself for the audience.
Rani also expressed gratitude towards filmmakers who continued to offer her strong roles over the past decade, even as she balanced marriage and motherhood. “Fortunately, that didn’t come in the way of a director choosing me for a role. So, in a way, the audiences and the industry have helped me shatter the glass ceiling. They always say that once you go the family way, it’s the end of the road for an actress. But that’s not always true. Having said that, while I love being an actress, I enjoy the whole part of being a housewife. I enjoy the fact that I’m a mother to my daughter. I enjoy that I get to look after my husband,” she said.

Rani added that it brings her great happiness to have the support of her husband and daughter in her film journey. She said that such encouragement is crucial for every woman but acknowledged that many may not receive the support they need to pursue their careers. Mukerji said that she’s grateful for her own circumstances.
