Pakistan cricket embarrassed again as commentator opts out of PSL for IPL

New Delhi: Pakistan cricket suffered yet another embarrassment after a commentator opted out of the ongoing Pakistan Super League (PSL) for Indian Premier League (IPL). After few players left the PSL to join the IPL, former England player-turned commentator Nick Knight also followed the same path.

A few days ago, Knight was named in the PSL commentary panel but now he has been named in the Star Sports IPL commentary panel too. He was named alongside Carlos Brathwaite, Lisa Sthalekar, JP Duminy, Dominic Cork, Mark Butcher, Martin Guptill, Greg Blewett and Athar Ali Khan, as well as former Pakistan cricketers Wasim Akram, Ramiz Raja, Aamer Sohail, Urooj Mumtaz and Bazid Khan.

Meanwhile, Star Sports unveiled its commentary panel for the IPL 2026, with Knight featuring alongside Ian Bishop, Ravi Shastri, Harsha Bhogle, Daren Ganga, Danny Morrison and others.

Players left PSL for ISL

Earlier, ZimbabweтАЩs Blessing Muzarabani joined the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) as replacement for Bangladesh pacer Mustafizur Rahman. Muzarabani had been signed by Islamabad United as a replacement for Shamar Joseph, but the Zimbabwean star chose the IPL over the PSL and signed with the three-time champions in Kolkata.

Apart from him, Sri Lanka skipper and all-rounder Dasun Shanaka is also set to join Rajasthan Royals as a replacement for the injured Sam Curran. Shanaka was part of the PSL franchise Lahore Qalandars. Meanwhile, five-time winners Chennai Super Kings (CSK) have roped in Australian pacer Spencer Johnson as a replacement for Nathan Ellis. Earlier, Johnson had signed for the Quetta Gladiators for the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2026 season.
