PSL Faces MASSIVE Embarrassment! Another Star Rejects Contract To Switch To IPL

The Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2026 has already started from March 26. It has fallen on the same time as the IPL 2026, as has been the norm since last year.

From last year onwards, there has been a slew of players who have rejected PSL contracts to play for the IPL as injury replacements. This year alone three players have made the switch. Now, after these three players, the PSL has faced yet another major embarrassment, as a major name in the commentary team has also made the switch to the IPL 2026.

Former England cricketer Nick Knight was named in the  commentary panel alongside a star-studded lineup of Carlos Brathwaite, Lisa Sthalekar, JP Duminy, Dominic Cork, Mark Butcher, Martin Guptill, Greg Blewett and Athar Ali Khan, as well as former Pakistan cricketers Wasim Akram, Ramiz Raja, Aamer Sohail, Urooj Mumtaz and Bazid Khan.

However, as the full English commentary panel of the IPL 2026 was revealed, Nick Knight was named as one of them. He will join an elite list of AB de Villiers, Aaron Finch, Dale Steyn, Faf du Plessis, Eoin Morgan, Kevin Pietersen, Michael Clarke, Sunil Gavaskar, Murali Kartik, Ian Bishop, Simon Doull, Danny Morrison, Darren Ganga,, Graeme Swann, Alan Wilkins, Mpumelelo Mbangwa, Anjum Chopra, WV Raman, Raunak Kapoor, Mitchell McClenaghan, Katey Martin, Simon Katich, Harsha Bhogle, and Ravi Shastri.

Ravichandran Ashwin Makes Commentary Debut In IPL 2026

R Ashwin is set to make his IPL return in the 19th edition of the tournament. Ashwin, who retired from IPL in 2025, will don a new cap in this year’s edition. Ashwin will make his commentary debut in the T20 league and will be part of the Hindi commentary team.

Star Sports, IPL’s official broadcaster, shared the list of commentators who will share their insights during the season. Ashwin is among the former IPL winners who will do commentary. Ashwin will share the commentary box with his former India teammates, Suresh Raina, Harbhajan Singh, Umesh Yadav, Cheteshwar Pujara, Piyush Chawla, Virender Sehwag and Irfan Pathan, among others.
