Regarding the reduction in excise duty on petrol and diesel by the government, Union Minister Kiren Rijiju said, “I want to thank the Prime Minister for taking such a big step in these difficult times. Our MPs will also welcome this step and will thank the Prime Minister when Parliament resumes today. The Prime Minister had clearly said that there is no need to panic. Hoarders have been warned. The Government of India has kept the situation completely under control. In the all-party meeting, the opposition MPs also praised the government in a way. And also assured that they will support the decisions of the government. State governments have been instructed to take strict action against those hoarding so that there is no shortage of gas and fuel.
