Preparation to terminate the contract
IRCTC has also started the process of terminating the contract of the concerned catering contractor. Apart from this, action is also being taken to blacklist him, so that such negligence does not happen again in future.
Railways also showed strictness
Indian Railways had already adopted a tough stance in this matter. Railways imposed a fine of Rs 10 lakh on IRCTC, while a huge fine of Rs 50 lakh was imposed on the catering service company. Besides, orders were also given to terminate the company’s contract.
Safety of passengers is paramount
Railways has made it clear that providing safe and quality food to the passengers is its priority. This kind of negligence will not be tolerated.
Increased monitoring of food quality
