Xiaomi has unveiled a new ultra-affordable smartphone in its Redmi series in India. The Redmi 15A debuts with a Unisoc chipset, a super-smooth 120Hz display, a 32MP camera, and a sizeable battery.

The Redmi 15A price in India starts from Rs 12,999 for the 4GB/64GB model. Moreover, the handset is also offered in a 4GB/128GB and a 6GB/128GB configuration that will set you back Rs 14,499 and Rs 16,499, respectively.

The Redmi 15A comes in Ace Black, Awesome Blue, and Amaze Purple shades. The Redmi 15A will be available for purchase in India from April 3 through Flipkart, mi.com, and Xiaomi retail stores across the country.

The Redmi 15A packs a massive 6,300mAh battery, which is claimed to deliver up to two days of usage on a single charge. It supports 15W wired charging along with 7.5W wired reverse charging, making it practical for users who need long-lasting endurance and occasional power sharing.

Powering the device is an octa-core Unisoc T8300 5G chipset built on a 6nm process, paired with a Mali-G57 GPU. The phone comes with up to 6GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 128GB of UFS 2.2 storage. It also supports virtual RAM expansion, while storage can be further expanded up to 2TB via a microSD card.

On the front, the Redmi 15A features a large 6.9-inch HD+ display with a dynamic refresh rate of 60Hz, 90Hz, and 120Hz. The panel supports a 240Hz touch sampling rate and is rated for up to 800 nits of peak brightness, ensuring decent visibility and responsiveness for everyday use.

For photography, the handset offers a dual rear camera setup headlined by a 32-megapixel primary sensor with an f/2.0 aperture and LED flash. On the front, there is an 8-megapixel camera for selfies and video calls.

The dual-SIM smartphone runs on Android 16 with Xiaomi’s HyperOS 3 skin. It also includes AI-powered features such as Google Gemini, Circle to Search, and Xiaomi Interconnectivity. Redmi is promising up to four years of Android updates and six years of security patches, which is notable for a device in this segment.

Connectivity options include 5G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.4, GPS/A-GPS, a USB Type-C port, USB OTG, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. The device also comes with stereo speakers and an IP52 rating for dust and splash resistance. It measures 171.56 x 79.47 x 8.15mm and weighs 210 grams.
