Iran Nuclear Jacket Bomb: US Vice President JD Vance has warned that Iran may make dangerous weapons like “nuclear jacket” in the future. According to the report, Iran has 60% enriched uranium, which has raised new concerns about the security of the world.
The world is currently witnessing tension on many fronts. Meanwhile, a statement by America’s Vice President JD Vance has come into discussion. He has expressed fear that Iran may create such a dangerous weapon in the future which is being called “nuclear jacket”.
It could be a nuclear weapon that could be worn by a person and used as a suicide attack. If this happens, it will be completely different from conventional nuclear weapons and can become a big challenge for the security agencies.
What is the concept of ‘nuclear jacket’?
US Vice President JD Vance says that Iran can work on small-sized nuclear weapons. This weapon can be so small that it can be carried hidden in means like a jacket or bag.
The US already has one of the world’s smallest nuclear weapons, with a warhead weighing about 23 kg. Its capacity is said to be equivalent to approximately 10 tons of TNT explosion. Experts believe that if similar technology is made smaller, it can also be fitted in a device that can be worn or carried along.

Why did this apprehension suddenly increase?
Recently a big hint came to light in the news related to Iran. Tasnim news agency, believed to be linked to Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), said in an editorial that Iran should consider withdrawing from the nuclear deal. This agreement is actually the Treaty on the Non‑Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons (NPT), the purpose of which is to stop the spread of nuclear weapons in the world.
Tasnim’s editorial said that if other countries are not following the rules, then why should Iran also bind itself by these rules.
How much uranium does Iran have?
According to international reports, Iran currently has about 440 kg of uranium enriched up to 60 percent.
To make nuclear weapons, 90 percent enriched uranium is usually required. Experts estimate that about 10–11 nuclear weapons can be prepared from this quantity of uranium in future, if it is further enriched.
Why is this being considered a threat to America?
According to American officials, there are three big reasons behind this.
- Not a missile, but a human attack: At present, Iran does not have long-range missiles or fighter planes that can reach America directly. But if a very small nuclear weapon is made, it may be possible to take it to another country through a person. This is why American security agencies are looking at this possibility seriously.
- Concern about sleeper cells: American agencies believe that like many countries of the world, sleeper cells of different organizations can be active in America too. If ever a small-sized nuclear weapon is prepared and reaches the secret network, it can be very difficult to stop it.
- Small attacks, but big impact. Such a weapon cannot cause as much devastation as a conventional nuclear bomb. But if it is used even in a part of a big city, thousands of people can die and panic can spread all over the world. According to JD Vance, “If even one area of a city is destroyed and thousands of people are killed, its impact will not be limited to just one country.”
Experts in security matters say that technology like “nuclear jacket” is still quite complex and it is not easy to make it. But in view of the increasing nuclear tension in the world and new military technologies, it is natural to discuss such possibilities.
For this reason, America and its allies are constantly keeping an eye on Iran’s nuclear program. At present, no concrete evidence has emerged regarding Iran’s possible “nuclear jacket” weapon. But after the statement of the US Vice President, this issue has become a part of the international security debate.
