In today’s digital era, almost everyone uses UPI apps for their daily expenses. Payment for everything like electricity, water, gas, mobile recharge, internet or OTT platform has now become online. In such a situation, to save from the hassle of paying bills again and again, a facility like UPI AutoPay was started, which automatically deducts the money on the fixed date. This feature sounds quite easy and convenient, but sometimes this feature becomes a problem. Often people turn on auto pay while taking a free trial of an app. Later you stop using that service, but forget to stop AutoPay. The result is that every month money is deducted without any information.
Actually, auto payment does not stop just by deleting the app. Unless you personally cancel the auto pay mandate of that service, money will continue to be deducted. Therefore, it is important to check from time to time whether any unwanted subscription is active. Now the question is how to stop AutoPay? The good thing is that the way to turn it off is very easy in all major UPI apps.
How to close PhonePe
If you use PhonePe, open the app and go to your profile. There you will get the option of Payment Management or AutoPay. In this section you will see all the active auto pay services. Click on the service you want to stop. Here, if you want, you can stop it for some time or delete it completely.
Tips for Paytm users
Similarly, Paytm users can also easily stop AutoPay. For this, go to the profile section of the app and open UPI Settings. Then go to Automatic Payments or Payment Management option. From here, select the payment you want to stop and cancel it.
Google Pay people should do this work
If you use Google Pay, go to the You tab in the app. After this, open the AutoPay section and go to Live to see the active services. Select the service from which money is being deducted, click on Cancel AutoPay and confirm by entering the UPI PIN.
The thing to keep in mind is that the AutoPay feature is for your convenience, but without monitoring it can increase your expenses. Therefore, check your AutoPay settings from time to time. With this you can avoid unwanted expenses and have better control over your money.
