Method of Havan (Chaitra Navratri 2026 Havan Ki Vidhi)
On the Navami Tithi of Navratri, first of all clean the Havan Kund by taking bath etc. Purify it with Ganga water. Then collect mango wood, camphor, ghee and havan materials. After this, light the fire in wood with the help of camphor. While burning it, remember Goddess Durga in your mind. First of all, offer offerings in the name of Lord Ganesha and then in the name of Navagrahas. After this, offer the main offering at least 11, 21 or 108 times along with the ‘Nirvana Mantra’ of Maa Durga (Om Ain Hreem Kleem Chamundayai Vicche Swaha). Finally, take a dry coconut (shell) and fill it with ghee and other ingredients and give it ‘Purnahuti’.
Importance of Havan (Havan Significance)
It is told in Markandeya Purana and Devi Mahatmya that fire is the mouth of the gods, hence whatever offering is made in the fire reaches directly to those gods and goddesses, remembering whom the offering is made in the fire. It is said in the scriptures that the smoke coming out of Havan purifies the environment. Happiness and prosperity increases in the house. Not only this, by performing Havan on Navami day one gets the full results of nine days of worship and fasting.
