Mumbai: A new film, Valmiki Ramayana, just launched its poster today on March 26, 2026. The film is directed by Bhavna Talwar, known for Dharm.
Anand Neelakantan, the writer responsible for the screenplay and adaptation, spoke to TV9 about the film. The writer said he couldn’t reveal many details. He confirmed that an official announcement relating to the movie will be made tomorrow by the director. Neelakantan is known for his association with Baahubali, along with Dr Chandra Prakash Dwivedi, who is also serving as the creative consultant.

The first look of the movie suggests that it is going to represent Ramayana in a simple way, making it easy for the audience to connect with it.
The film has a strong line of talented technicians like production designer Sabu Cyril, cinematographer Binod Pradhan, and Oscar-winning sound designer Resul Pookutty. While the makers of the film are expecting it to be released on October 2, 2026, the casting of the film is said to be underway.
As per the known release month, the movie will clash with Ajay Devgn’s Drishyam 3 and will release about a month before Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana.
