Burgman or Gixxer? Suzuki teases new launch for April 2

New Delhi: Suzuki Motorcycle India is getting ready to launch a new product on April 2, and the teaser has already created some curiosity. The company is better known in India for its scooters like the Access and Burgman Street, while its Gixxer motorcycles have not been as popular in recent years. Because of this, the focus now seems to be shifting more towards scooters again.

The teaser shared online shows a twin LED headlight setup with LED DRLs and a Suzuki badge placed in the middle. This design looks similar to the bigger Burgman 400 sold in international markets. Based on this, there is a strong chance that Suzuki is preparing to launch an updated version of the Burgman Street rather than a completely new motorcycle.

Possibly a new Burgman

From what is visible in the teaser, the upcoming model could get a refreshed front design inspired by the Burgman 400. Spy shots from last year had already shown test versions of the Burgman Street on Indian roads, which adds more weight to this possibility.

If this turns out to be the updated scooter, it may come with changes like a new front look, revised side panels and a slightly sharper overall design. There could also be some feature upgrades, possibly including a new instrument cluster. Other small updates like changes to the exhaust cover and tail section may also be part of the package.

However, no major performance changes are expected, the scooter will remain the same 125cc unit that the current model uses as this update seems more focused on design and features rather than power.

Gixxer SF also possible

There is still a small chance that the teaser could be hinting at a new Gixxer SF or Gixxer SF 250. Suzuki used the hashtag “Suzuki Motorcycle” in its post, which could be pointing towards a bike instead of a scooter.

The Gixxer range is due for an update, but there is very little confirmed information at the moment. Some reports suggest that the bikes could get improvements in design and equipment to better compete with rivals. But nothing concrete has been revealed yet.

For now, the teaser leans more towards the Burgman Street update. The final details will only be clear when Suzuki officially unveils the product on April 2.
