- After 12 new cases of corona in Andhra Pradesh and death of 4 patients, now there has been a sudden increase in cases in Maharashtra also.
- A total of 48 cases of corona have been reported so far in Maharashtra in the year 2026, out of which 21 new cases have been registered in the early days of July alone.
- Patients are mainly experiencing symptoms like dry or mucus-filled cough, mild fever, sore throat and extreme fatigue, which are getting cured on their own in 3 to 5 days.
- Most of the cases are not being detected directly through Covid tests, but during pre-operative tests done in hospitals to check for other diseases or before surgery.
After remaining completely silent for almost three years in India, Corona virus (Covid-19) has once again started spreading. After the recent news of the return of Corona virus in Andhra Pradesh, now Maharashtra has also recorded a sudden surge in Covid cases within the last 10 days. It is a matter of relief that all these cases are very mild and no patient has died in Maharashtra. Health experts say that this is not the beginning of a new Covid wave, rather the virus has now adapted to the environment like a normal seasonal flu.

According to the latest government data, 339 cases of Covid have been reported across the country since July 1, 2026. Among these, Kerala and Karnataka are at the forefront, but recently 12 cases in Cuddapah, Guntur and Visakhapatnam of Andhra Pradesh had raised concern. Deaths of 4 Corona patients suffering from other diseases like sugar, BP, kidney disease were also recorded there. After Andhra Pradesh, now the graph is rising in Maharashtra also. A total of 48 positive cases of Covid-19 have been reported so far in Maharashtra in the year 2026. Initially these cases were very limited, only 3 cases were reported in January, 1 in February, and 11 in June. But suddenly within the first 10-15 days of the month of July, 21 cases have been registered.
What are the new symptoms of Corona?
According to the report, the symptoms of the currently active variant are much milder than the earlier Omicron variants. Mainly these symptoms and problems are seen in the suffering patients:
- persistent dry or mucus-producing cough
- mild or moderate fever
- sore throat and pain in swallowing
- Body breakdown and feeling extremely tired
These symptoms usually last for 3 to 5 days. There are many patients who were admitted to the hospital for treatment of some other disease or for surgery and were found Covid positive in the screening done as per the protocol.
