As AI i.e. Artificial Intelligence is becoming smart, the dependence on chatbots is also increasing among the youth to deal with loneliness. One such story is going viral on Reddit, where a brother has expressed concern about his 21 year old sister. Her sister is preparing for NEET exam and spends around 10 hours a day talking to AI chatbots.
The brother wrote on Reddit that his sister has become completely addicted to the phone for the last 7-8 months. He said, ‘She keeps chatting even while studying. Since he lives at home, he has very few friends. She constantly talks to an AI bot, which is similar to her favorite singer. This conversation is so personal and secret that I hesitate even to talk to him about it. The brother also told that now his sister gets angry over small things and sometimes even raises her hand.
After this post went viral, many people gave their opinion on it. Many users said that perhaps the repeated failures and exam stress are pushing him in this direction, hence one should talk to him. Some people suggested that the only solution was to take the phone away from him. At the same time, some suggested that he should be encouraged to take a walk or run in the morning and should develop the habit of talking to friends directly on the phone instead of messaging them. Many people also warned that AI bots are fake and such relationships disconnect humans from the real world.
