Dhurandhar The Revenge makers have avoided commenting on it and believed in the audience’s love for the film. Amidst all, a Sikh community in Maharashtra has filed a fresh police complaint against the makers of Dhurandhar for allegedly hurting religious sentiments in the film. The complaint was filed in Mulund Police Station on March 24. However, the cops have not filed an FIR against them.
Fresh Complaint Against Dhurandhar 2
According to a PTI report, a Sikh organisation from Maharashtra called ‘Sikhs in Maharashtra’ submitted a complaint at the Mulund police station on March 17, in which the group objected to a poster showing the actor in Sikh attire, including a turban, beard and kada, which are considered sacred in Sikhism. Particularly, the group has taken an offence to the depiction of the character holding a cigarette while dressed in the mentioned religious symbols.
The Sikh group called the portrayal disrespectful. The organisation has demanded action against the actor, director and producers of Dhurandhar 2. In the statement, the cops mentioned that no FIR has been filed so far and the matter is currently under investigation.
Earlier, R Madhavan’s character was also criticised by a group of the Sikh community. In the film, Madhavan’s character is shown holding a cigarette while reciting lines from Guru Granth Sahib, not the Guru Gobind Singh Granth. An FIR was lodged at Mulund Police Station by Gurjyot Singh Keer, a Shiv Sena (Shinde Faction) leader.
R Madhavan’s Clarification
R Madhavan even issued clarification through video on his Instagram account for the objection to the sequence. He said, “Hum poore Sikh community ke saath hain. Aur hum unka bahut aadar karte hain (We support the Sikh community, and we respect it). Thodi galatfehmi hai.”
