New Delhi: A 22-year-old woman from Nagaland was found hanging in her rented accommodation in Karnataka’s Chikkamagaluru district on Wednesday, police said. The deceased has been identified as Linsula, a native of Kiphire district in Nagaland. She was working at a spa in Chikkamagaluru and was staying in a rented house in the Aravinda Nagar area.
According to a complaint filed by her sister, Lashila Inchungar, who lives in Bengaluru, the family came to know about the incident on March 22. One of Linsula’s colleagues informed them about her death.
Family alerted by colleague
After receiving the information, Lashila reached Chikkamagaluru along with officials of the Eastern Nagaland Students’ Union Bengaluru and police personnel. They arrived at the residence at around 5:30 am on Wednesday, where Linsula’s body was found hanging.
The circumstances surrounding her death have raised concerns among her family members, who are demanding a detailed inquiry.
Allegations of mental harassment
In her complaint, Lashila has named two individuals, Rajesh and Tejas, and alleged that her sister may have faced mental harassment before her death. She has urged authorities to investigate their role and take legal action if any wrongdoing is found.
The family believes that the situation leading up to Linsula’s death needs to be examined carefully to establish the truth.
