Delhi Illegal Arms Racket: Delhi Police Crime Branch has exposed an international arms smuggling network running from Old Delhi. 10 people were arrested and 21 modern weapons and 200 cartridges were recovered. Investigation revealed supply from Pakistan-Nepal route.

Taking major action, Delhi Police Crime Branch exposed this entire network. Police have arrested 10 people in this case and recovered many advanced weapons from them.

Dangerous weapons recovered in the raid

A total of 21 modern weapons and 200 live cartridges were recovered during the police action. The recovered weapons also included pistols of several international companies and a submachine gun. Investigation revealed that these included:

  • Beretta company’s semi-automatic pistol
  • Walther’s pistol
  • Taurus company pistol
  • CZ pistol
  • High-end PX-5.7 pistol, commonly associated with special forces

The recovery of so many weapons has increased the concern of the police and security agencies.

Weapons used to reach Delhi through three countries

This operation was led by Sanjeev Yadav. The investigation revealed that the weapons were being supplied through an organized international network. According to the police, this entire network worked through three countries:

  • Weapons were supplied from Pakistan
  • After this they were brought inside through the India-Nepal border.
  • Then it was supplied further after reaching Delhi.

According to the Crime Branch, the Walled City area of ​​Old Delhi had become the base of this entire network.

Weapons used to reach gangs of Delhi-NCR

Police say that weapons were supplied from here to many criminal gangs of Delhi-NCR. Not only this, some weapons were also being sent to criminals from other states. In this way this network had become a strong link between international suppliers and the organized crime of the country.

The investigation will now go deeper

Police said that after the arrest, the investigation is now being taken further. Officials are trying to find out who is the real mastermind of this entire network. For this the police is investigating many aspects:

  • investigation of financial transactions
  • Identification of final buyers of weapons
  • Possible international connections to the network

The investigating agencies are also trying to find out whether the wires of this network are connected to any sleeper cell.

Continuous interrogation of the accused

All the arrested accused are being continuously interrogated. Police believe that during interrogation, more big names related to this entire racket may come to light. According to officials, this action can prove to be a major blow to the supply chain of weapons reaching criminals operating in Delhi-NCR.
