In the last 9 years under the leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath in Uttar Pradesh, extensive work has been done on strengthening the ‘Ease of Living’ by keeping good governance at the center. The progress of government schemes and statistics show that now the need for people to go out for health, education and employment has reduced in the state. Due to transparent system and better implementation of schemes, UP is now becoming a strong, self-reliant and rapidly developing state.
Improvement in health services: Medical College and Ayushman Yojana
There has been a huge expansion in the health sector after 2017.
- Number of government medical colleges increased to 81
- ‘One District One Medical College’ scheme implemented rapidly
- Admission to 13,600 MBBS and 6,866 PG seats
Under the Ayushman Bharat scheme, 5.64 crore people have been given golden cards, through which they are getting free treatment up to Rs 5 lakh.
Education reforms: Operation Kayakalp and digital studies
Big changes have also been seen in the education sector.
- 19 basic facilities in more than 1.32 lakh schools under ‘Operation Kayakalp’
- Money for uniforms, shoes, bags to 1.30 crore students through DBT
- Smart classes and ICT labs in thousands of schools
This has improved the quality of education and promoted digital education.
Skill development and employment: Youth getting opportunities
The government has also taken many steps in the field of skill development.
- Training to 26 lakh youth under UPSDM
- Employment to artisans through ‘One District One Product’ (ODOP) scheme

Social security schemes: benefits to crores of people
Social security schemes have brought stability in the lives of people.
- 67.50 lakh elderly people
- 26.81 lakh destitute women
- 11.57 lakh disabled people
The pension amount was increased from ₹300 to ₹1000 and will be ₹1500 from April 2026.
Other than this:
- More than 62 lakh houses were given to the poor
- Free ration to 15 crore people
- Gas connections to 1.86 crore families under Ujjwala scheme
Through DBT, the benefits of 191 schemes of 31 departments are reaching the people directly.
Women empowerment: increased participation in schemes
Several schemes were implemented for the empowerment of women:
- 26.81 lakh daughters benefited from Kanya Sumangala Scheme
- 60 lakh mothers joined Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana
- Mass marriage of 5.20 lakh daughters
Under the Rural Livelihood Mission, 1.06 crore women have joined self-help groups, while 18.55 lakh women have become ‘Lakhpati’.
Digital Governance: Services made easy
There has also been a big change in the field of digital governance.
- More than 24 services online on e-Sathi App
- Optical fiber connectivity in 2066 gram panchayats
- Broadband to 20 lakh houses under Project Ganga
This has also created about 10 thousand employment opportunities.

‘Ease of living’ has improved in Uttar Pradesh due to improvements in health, education, employment and digital services in the 9 years of Yogi government. These efforts have strengthened the state towards becoming a self-reliant and developed state.
