West Bengal Election Rally: Before the West Bengal elections, Mamata Banerjee made serious allegations against the BJP and the Election Commission in the Maynaguri rally. Expressing fear of removal of names from the voter list, he raised questions on the transparency of the election process.

The political atmosphere has started heating up amid preparations for the assembly elections in West Bengal. State Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee started the election campaign by holding a big rally in Maynaguri, North Bengal.

This was his first major public meeting after the announcement of elections. From this platform, he launched a scathing attack on BJP and strongly raised the issue related to voter list. He alleged that efforts are being made to remove the names of some people from the voter list, which may raise questions on the fairness of the elections.

Questions raised on identity and citizenship

During the rally, Mamata Banerjee said that the biggest question at this time is who will be considered a valid Indian voter and on what basis. He said that he has sought answers from BJP on this issue. Mamata Banerjee alleged that BJP, Central Government and Election Commission of India Not working as per the spirit of the Constitution. According to him, this could be an attempt to weaken people’s voting rights.

Allegation of snatching the right to vote

Speaking at the rally, Mamata Banerjee said that if caution is not taken regarding the rights of voters now, it could have serious consequences in the future. He said that if today people’s right to vote is being taken away, then tomorrow questions can be raised on citizenship on the same basis. Mamata Banerjee also said that to keep the country’s democracy strong, it is very important for the election process to be transparent and fair.

BJP accused of being anti-Bengali

In the rally, Mamata Banerjee described BJP as an anti-Bengali party and said that incidents of ill-treatment of Bengalis have come to light in some parts of the country. She said that in view of the news of some nominations being canceled in Assam, she would advise her party’s candidates to take a lawyer with them while going to file nominations.

Taking a jibe at the BJP, he said that big promises are made before the elections, but after the elections, the governments start doing bulldozer politics.

Questions raised earlier also regarding SIR process

Even before this, Mamata Banerjee had expressed concern about the SIR process. They allege that through this process the voting rights of some people can be affected. He claimed that more than 200 people have died so far due to this process. He also said that the supplementary list of voter list is not available at the block and district level in many places, due to which people are facing difficulty in getting the information.

Appeal to opposition parties to unite

At the end of the rally, Mamata Banerjee appealed to all the opposition parties to unite against the BJP and raise their voice to protect democratic rights. He said that the biggest power in democracy is the public vote and it is the responsibility of every political party and organization to protect this right.
