Mumbai residents to face water cut in several areas amid scorching summer: Check places and dates here

New Delhi: Amid the soaring temperature in Mumbai in this summer, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has decided to implement a major water cut across several neighborhoods in the city from 11 pm on March 28 until 5 pm on March 29.

Water cuts in these areas

They will be enforcing the disruption of 16 hours in the city to set up a new pipeline in Bandra West. In Santacruz West or Khar West, they will be total shutdown of water on March 29 between 4 am and 8:30 am. In Bandra West, there will be complete water cut in places like Bazar Road, Jain Mandir Road, and D’Monte Road. There will water cut in other popular places like Perry Road, Hill Road, RK Patkar Road, Carter Road, and nearby localities from 10 am to 2 pm.

More places to be affected

There will be low water pressure in some places like Dandpada, Chuim Gaothan, Khar Danda Koliwada, and some parts of Gazdarbandh slum between 5:30 pm and 10:00 pm. There will be another water cut in Dr. Ambedkar Road, Pali Gaothan, Pali Hill, and parts of Bandra/Khar West on Saturday night from 10 pm to 1 am. Residents have been urged to make adequate preparations and store water in advance and to boil and filter drinking water for the next four to five days.

Mumbai reels from heat

Meanwhile, scorching summer has arrived in Mumbai early and its making lives difficult for common people with an intensity which not usually seen in the seaside city. Notably, the humidity has been suffocating, and when it rises above 70 per cent, the body tends to feel it as far hotter. Heat exposure builds quickly in the city where millions of people spend hours commuting, working outdoors or walking through crowded streets.
