Director Shankar lauded Sabdham for its innovative use of sound in horror storytelling. He commended Arivazhagan’s technical direction and engaging narrative, highlighting the pre-interval “sound play” sequence as particularly impressive. Shankar also praised Udaykumar’s sound mixing, Aadhi Pinisetty’s strong screen presence, and Thaman’s impactful score, noting how these elements combined to create a truly immersive experience. Arivazhagan, who previously worked as Shankar’s associate, was praised for bringing a fresh perspective to Tamil horror cinema.
Audiences praised Sabdham for its suspenseful storytelling and effective blend of horror and thriller, crediting director Arivazhagan for keeping the tension intact without revealing key twists too early. The performances of Aadhi Pinisetty, Simran, and Lakshmi Menon were lauded as strong points, while Thaman’s background score was praised for bringing in the eerie atmosphere. Fans called it a “well-researched paranormal thriller” with a satisfying climax and described it as a “perfect theatrical experience,” but wrote about the lack of a depth in screenplay and some pacing issues.
