DALLAS (AP) – Moses Moody scored 23 points for the Golden State Warriors before suffering a serious left knee injury late in overtime, leading to a 137-131 victory over the Dallas Mavericks on Monday night.
This win extended the Mavericks’ home losing streak to 12 games, marking their longest in 32 years.
Moody collapsed after a steal from Mavericks rookie Cooper Flagg, buckling his left leg while attempting a shot. The game was paused with 58 seconds left in the overtime period as medical staff attended to Moody, who was later transported off the court on a stretcher.
Injury Details
Following the injury, Warriors coach Steve Kerr expressed concern, stating, ‘We don’t know what it is, but it sure looked bad.’ Moody was in his first game back after missing 10 games due to a sprained right wrist.
As Moody lay on the floor, the atmosphere in the Mavericks’ arena shifted to silence, with players and medical personnel surrounding him for several minutes before he was removed.

Despite the injury, the Warriors achieved a crucial victory, breaking a three-game losing streak and improving their position in the Western Conference play-in tournament. Kristaps Porzingis contributed 23 points, while Brandin Podziemski added 20 points and 10 rebounds.
The Warriors managed to overcome a 15-point deficit from the first half, while the Mavericks struggled, suffering their second consecutive overtime loss and dropping to a dismal 4-23 record since a four-game winning streak earlier in the season.
Mavericks’ Struggles
The Mavericks’ current home losing streak is their longest at the 25-year-old American Airlines Center, with past losing streaks of 19 and 12 games recorded during the 1993-94 season at the now-demolished Reunion Arena. Rookie Cooper Flagg led the Mavericks with 30 points and nine assists, despite seven turnovers that contributed to the team’s difficulties.
In the final moments after Moody’s injury, only one additional point was scored, as both teams faced challenges in maintaining their intensity from earlier in the game.
