At the starry event, Milye was accompanied by her mother Tish Cyrus and her husband Dominic Purcell, along with sister Brandi Cyrus and her fiance Matt Southcombe, among other family members. Tish and Billy Ray Cyrus are both set to appear in the special. During the event, Miley caught up with several of her former co-stars from the show, adding to the nostalgic feel of the evening.

In a picture from the premiere, Miley and Maxx were seen happily posing for the shutterbugs on the red carpet. Interestingly, Miley donned a custom made Hannah Mohtana outfit for the event, which had an imprint of her character from the hit series.

Meanwhile, Miley Cyrus had previously revealed that the anniversary special wasn’t even a real project when she first started talking about it. Inspired by advice from Dolly Parton, she began promoting the idea early on, believing that putting it out there would help make it happen. According to Disney executive Charlie Andrews, Miley’s push turned the idea into reality, with her focus firmly on creating something special for fans.

Hannah Montana 20 marks reunion of stars Jason Earles, Mitchel Musso and more

Emily Osment, known for playing Lilly Truscott on Hannah Montana, shared why she won’t be part of the show’s 20th anniversary special. The actor said her absence has nothing to do with any fallout and explained that she was tied up shooting her series George & Mandy’s First Marriage at the time, making it impossible for her to join the reunion.

The reunion has sparked nostalgia around the hit Disney series, which ran from 2006 to 2011 and made stars out of its cast. Since then, Miley Cyrus has built a hugely successful music career, winning a Grammy for Flowers, while Emily Osment continued acting in television and voice roles, and now stars in George & Mandy’s First Marriage. Other cast members, including Jason Earles, Mitchel Musso, Moises Arias and Billy Ray Cyrus, have also stayed active in entertainment in different ways since the show ended.

Shot in front of a live audience, the special will feature performances of popular tracks like Best of Both Worlds, along with unseen archival footage from the series. It will also include appearances by her parents and a detailed conversation with Miley as she looks back on the show and its impact. The special is hosted by Call Her Daddy podcast’s Alex Cooper.
