Xiaomi tends to play it safe with the Redmi Note cycle. One refresh a year, usually around the same time, and this time doesn’t look any different.
Since the Redmi Note 15 series showed up in China in August, the next one should land around that window in 2026.
But even this early, there’s already some chatter around what might be coming next.
Leak Hints At A Much Bigger Battery
A new tip from Digital Chat Station talks about a device currently being tested with a 10,000mAh battery and 100W charging. There’s also mention of a 200-megapixel main camera.
The leak doesn’t explicitly mention the Redmi Note 16 series. Still, most of the discussion around it points in that direction. There was also a similar rumor back in November that mentioned a 200MP sensor for the same lineup, so this isn’t coming out of nowhere.
If this proves true, the battery alone would be a significant shift.
That Battery Number Stands Out
A 10,000mAh battery isn’t something Xiaomi has done before. Right now, its largest battery sits at 9,000mAh on the .
So this would push things even further, at least on paper.
On the camera side, it would also be a step up from the current Redmi Note 15 Pro+, which sticks to a 50MP main sensor, paired with a 50MP telephoto and an 8MP ultrawide (the Indian Redmi Note 15 Pro and Pro+ pack a 200MP main sensor).
Expected Launch
The next Redmi Note lineup will likely arrive around August, with the India launch expected to follow in early next year. More details should surface closer to the announcement.
