Chhath Vrat Rules: Chaiti Chhath, a four-day festival of folk faith, is being celebrated with full devotion and devotion. On the second day i.e. the ritual of Kharna has been completed as per the rituals and now today is the most important day of Chhath Puja, Evening Arghya. Waterless fast started with Kharna
On the second day of this four-day long festival, i.e. on Monday, the devotees completed the ritual of Kharna. After receiving the prasad of jaggery kheer and roti in the evening, the fast of 36 hours of rigorous waterless fasting has started, which will end with Parana after sunrise on Wednesday morning.
Evening Arghya: Auspicious time (24 March 2026)
Today is Chaitra Shukla Shashthi Tithi. This evening the first Arghya will be offered to the setting sun.
Special Coincidence: Today, at the time of puja, Rohini Nakshatra and Preeti Yoga will be present, which is considered very auspicious in astrology.
Method and material of worship
- Major offerings: Traditional thekua made from wheat flour and jaggery, rice laddu (ladduwa), and puri.
- Fruits and Vegetables: Lemon, banana, water chestnut, sugarcane, sugarcane, sweet potato and seasonal fruits.
- other ingredients: Coconut, incense sticks, earthen lamp, vermillion and Akshat.
Method: The devotees stand in the water and face the setting sun. After arranging all the worship material in the soup, Arghya is offered to Lord Surya and by singing the song of Chhathi Maiya, long life and happiness and prosperity of the children is wished.
Important rules of Chhath Puja
- Importance of cleanliness: Cleanliness has the utmost importance in Chhath Puja. From the place where Prasad is made to the utensils, everything should be brand new or completely pure.
- Satvik diet: Use of garlic and onion is completely prohibited at home during the fast.
- Do not sleep on the bed: During the fast, the devotees sleep by spreading a blanket or mat on the ground.
- Restraint on speech: During this time, the fasting person should remain calm and meditate on Chhathi Maiya and should not speak harsh words towards anyone.
The great festival will end tomorrow
Tomorrow i.e. on 25th March, on the day of Chaitra Shukla Saptami, Arghya will be offered to the rising sun. After this, the devotees will break their fast with raw milk and prasad, with which this four-day ritual will conclude.
