CM Mohan Yadav News: Bhopal will host a grand Army Day parade on 15 January 2027. With an aim to inspire the youth, the event will also include a military exhibition, exercise and a bravery evening like Delhi’s 26 January Parade. The state government will give full support to the army.
Bhopal: Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Indian Army has demonstrated indomitable courage, bravery and capability on every occasion and front. It is a matter of pride for every individual and family of the country to be associated with the tradition of bravery and sacrifice of the Indian Army. With the aim of acquainting the people of the state with the rich military heritage of the Indian Army and motivating the youth of the state to join the Indian Army, a special parade will be organized in Bhopal on the upcoming Army Day, 15 January 2027. The experience of attending these programs being held on Army Day in Bhopal will be similar to the programs being held on the duty path in New Delhi on Republic Day, 26 January. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that the state government will provide all possible support to the Indian Army for this event to be held in the state capital Bhopal. The Chief Minister was addressing the meeting held at Samatva Bhawan (Chief Minister’s Residence) in the presence of Chief Minister Dr. Yadav, Chief Secretary Anurag Jain and Chief of Army Staff General Upendra Dwivedi. Additional Chief Secretary Chief Minister’s Office Neeraj Mandloi, Director General of Police Kailash Makwana and senior army officers were present in the meeting.

In the meeting of military officers chaired by Chief Minister Dr. Yadav, Army Chief, General Upendra Dwivedi told that a grand Army Day parade will be organized in Bhopal on the upcoming Army Day, 15 January. Along with this, there will also be a Shaurya Sandhya, an exhibition focusing on the weapons, resources and equipment of the Army and demonstration of military exercises. Retired soldiers will also be honoured. All activities will be conducted with the grandeur and dignity of the programs to be held in New Delhi on Republic Day, 26 January. The country’s Defense Minister Shri Rajnath Singh will also participate in the program. This event is being organized with the objective of showcasing the rich valor and military tradition of the Indian Army, connecting the people with the military parade, developing a sense of better coordination and mutual trust between the Army and the civil administration and motivating the youth to join the Indian Army.
Army Day 15 January 2027 will be special
It was told in the meeting that these programs to be held on Army Day, 15 January 2027, will start from Madhya Pradesh Foundation Day on 1 November. On the Foundation Day, under the Meri Maati campaign, soil will be brought from different districts of the state and a resolution tree will be planted at the Shaurya Smarak in Bhopal. Rehearsals for the Army Day parade on January 15 will take place on January 9, 11 and 13. Similarly, for the Shaurya Sandhya of 15th January, the sequence of exercises has been kept on 11th and 13th January. The military exhibition will be organized from 7 to 12 January. Military exercise will be held on 11 and 12 January in Bade Talab of Bhopal. Atal Path, Aerocity Road, BHEL Kalibari Marg and BHEL Link Road have been proposed for the army parade. Shaurya Sandhya was organized by T.T. The military exhibition will be held in the Municipal Stadium and in the Jamboree Ground. There will be water sports, air show and military exercise activities on the big pond. As an initial program, hot air balloon activity, motorcycle rally, race and other activities will be organized under ‘Meri Mati Abhiyan’ to be held on the foundation day of the state, 1 November 2026.
Pledge of ‘One India-Best India’
Army Day Army Day is celebrated every year on 15 January to commemorate General KM Cariappa taking over the command of the Indian Army from General Sir FRR Butcher, the last British Commander-in-Chief of the Indian Army in the year 1949. This initiative of decentralization of national events started from the year 2023 with the aim of strengthening Prime Minister Shri Modi’s idea of ’Ek Bharat-Shrestha Bharat’ and encouraging nationwide public participation in the Indian Army by strengthening the relationship between the army and civilians. Such events also provide an opportunity to honor and remember the bravehearts who were martyred for the country at the local level. The first such parade on Army Day was organized in Bengaluru in the year 2023, in Lucknow in 2024, in Pune in 2025 and in Jaipur in 2026. These events have also helped in motivating the youth to serve in the Indian Army. Lieutenant General Sandeep Jain, Lieutenant General Arvind Chauhan, Lieutenant General Ranjit Singh, Major General Vikas Lal, Brigadier Nitin Bhatia, Colonel Saurabh Kumar, Sunny Juneja, Rajesh Bandle and other officers were present in the meeting.
