Will now only 10 kg gas cylinder be available instead of 14 kg? The government told the whole truth

For the last few days, the news was spreading rapidly that the weight of the 14.2 kg LPG cylinder coming to your homes is being reduced to 10 kg. This news had increased the concern of many families. But, the Petroleum Ministry has completely clarified the situation and reassured the countrymen. Joint Secretary of the Ministry, Sujata Sharma has clearly said that the talk of reducing the weight of the cylinder is just a rumor.

Only 14.2 kg cylinder will be available

In times of crisis, misinformation often irritates the public unnecessarily. The news of 10 kg LPG cylinder was also a part of this. Rejecting this outright, the government has clarified that no change is being made in the weight or supply of domestic gas. The delivery system is completely smooth and there is no shortage (dry out) of any kind in the gas agencies. Keeping in mind the convenience of the people, an additional consignment of 15,800 tonnes of commercial LPG has also been delivered. The government has made a clear appeal that citizens should remain relaxed and not pay attention to any kind of misleading news.

Refinery working at 100% capacity

Whatever challenges there may be at the international level regarding the movement of ships in the Strait of Hormuz, India is already prepared for it. There is sufficient and safe reserve of crude oil in the country. All our refineries are working brilliantly at 100 per cent capacity. Apart from this, reports of petrol pumps drying up in Gujarat or any other part of the country have also been proved to be completely wrong. As per confirmed information received from the field, all retail outlets are running normally. At the same time, Shipping Ministry official Rajesh Kumar Sinha has also assured that the 22 Indian ships and 600 civilians present in the tense area are absolutely safe.

Complete protection of customer interests

The government is not only providing smooth supply, but is also fully prepared to protect the interests of the common man. Strict action is being taken against those who take unfair advantage of this environment and make profit. To keep the system in order, special control rooms have been created in 32 states and union territories. In the last few days, 550 FIRs have been registered by conducting rapid raids at 37,000 places across the country. During this period, 150 people have been arrested and the licenses of distributors involved in black marketing have been immediately cancelled. This strict action shows how diligently the system is working to save the common man from trouble.

PNG expansion accelerated

The government is also expanding the network of Piped Natural Gas (PNG) at an unprecedented pace. City Gas Distribution (CGD) companies have been instructed to speed up providing commercial connections. For this, additional allocation of 10 percent has also been given for the expansion of PNG network. The best result of these positive efforts is that in the last three weeks alone, about 3.5 lakh new domestic and commercial PNG connections have been or are being allotted.
