The famous snake incident across the country has been repeated once again. Just as Ravita along with her lover Amardeep had murdered her husband Amit by getting bitten by a snake in Akbarpur Sadat village of Bahsuma last year, a similar incident was carried out again in Hastinapur in Meerut on Thursday night.
The school director, out of love for the driver’s lover, fed her 10 sleeping pills to her husband and then killed him by biting him with a poisonous snake. There was also a conspiracy to show the incident as a death due to snakebite, but as soon as it was talked about conducting a post-mortem, the wife started refusing. The police have currently arrested the murdered wife and her lover driver.
32-year-old Atul Kumar, resident of Bhandora village of Bahsuma, was living in a rented house in J Block Colony of Hastinapur for the last four months with his wife Damini and six-year-old son Manik. The couple had run Krishna Kids School near the colony. On Thursday night, the couple slept with their son on separate beds in the same room. Due to the heat late at night, the wife came outside with her son in the living room and slept. On Friday morning, when Damini went to give tea to Atul, he was lying unconscious. After this Damini called her father-in-law Ajab Singh and told that Atul had died due to snake bite. Ajab Singh reached the spot. They took Atul to the hospital with the help of Damini and school bus driver Tushar. Doctors declared Atul dead.
Wife refused to conduct post mortem of husband’s body
Marks of snake bite were also found on Atul’s leg, so the family took Atul to some snake charmers in Chetwala and got him exorcised. However, things did not work out and they also declared Atul dead. The family took the body to Bhandora village and expressed suspicion of murder and demanded a post-mortem. Meanwhile, Damini and Tushar started refusing to conduct post mortem. In case of suspicion, the police was informed. CO Mawana Pankaj Lavania, forensic team and Hastinapur police reached the spot and the body was sent for post-mortem.
Atul was first given sleeping pills and then bitten by a snake.
When the police investigated the spot, they found two sleeping pills. Interrogation was started by taking Damini and Tushar into custody. It was revealed that both of them were having a love affair and hence planned to murder Atul. Tushar had bought sleeping pills and given them to Damini. Two days ago, we had also bought a snake from a snake charmer. Damini had given 10 sleeping pills to Atul on Thursday night. After Atul became unconscious, Damini and Tushar together got Atul bitten by the snake and killed him. To confirm death, strangulation was also done. In the morning, Damini did drama and informed the family.
Repeated snake incident like Ravita
On May 12, 2025, in Akbarpur Sadat village of Meerut police station Bahsuma, Ravita, along with her lover Amardeep, strangled her husband Amit to death and then threw a snake on the dead body to show death due to snakebite. Amardeep had bought the snake from a snake charmer. On the same lines, Damini and Tushar had planned the murder of Atul. Police is finding out from whom and when Tushar had bought the snake.
Stayed in the village till three months ago
Atul’s father Ajab Singh told that Atul and his wife lived in the village till three months ago. But he started saying that some priest had asked him not to stay in the village for four years. Since then he started living in Hastinapur by taking a house on rent.
Attempted murder four months ago also
Atul’s father Ajab Singh told that four months ago also Damini had tried to murder Atul in the village. At that time some intoxicating medicine was given to Atul, after which Atul’s condition worsened. Atul was kept hospitalized for several days. However, during this time Damini did not allow police action to be taken.
Atul used to say, mother she will get me killed
When Atul lived in the village, he told his mother Santosh Devi that Damini was having an affair with someone else. He had also expressed his fear of murder. Atul had told his mother that ‘Mother, she will get me killed’. Although no one doubted Damini at that time.
SSP Meerut Avinash Pandey said, Damini, along with her lover, gave 10 sleeping pills to her husband Atul on Thursday night. After this, Damini and her lover Tushar together killed Atul by biting him with a snake. Post mortem has been conducted and the manner of death is being ascertained. At present the accused have confessed to the crime.
