Under the UPSRTC Connectivity Villages to CITES scheme, the Chief Minister Janata Bus Service will start in UP. 22 districts will be added in the first phase. A cheaper and convenient bus service will make the villagers access to cities.

UPSRTC Janata Bus Service: There is news of great relief for people living in rural areas of Uttar Pradesh. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath is going to start the Chief Minister Janata bus service soon. Under this service, villages will be directly connected to the district headquarters and depots, which will make the movement of people easier.

Start in 22 districts in the first phase

According to the transport department’s plan, the first phase of the public bus service will be implemented in 22 districts. These include Lucknow, Kanpur, Agra, Shahjahanpur, Sitapur, Hardoi, Bareilly, Mathura, Noida, Ghaziabad, Etah, Firozabad, Varanasi, Jaunpur and Ballia.

  • Initially, the largest block and tehsil headquarters will be connected to other districts.
  • Buses will run as a trial for a month.
  • During this period, after removing the problems and shortcomings, the scope of the scheme will be increased in the entire state.

Preparations to connect villages with main cities

The transport department aims to connect rural areas directly to the district and depot headquarters.

  • The fare of these buses will be much lower than other normal buses.
  • The distance of buses will be kept about 60 to 80 km.
  • Every bus will make four rounds and stay in villages will be mandatory.
  • If needed, three or more buses can be run on any route.

Buses will run on 1540 routes in the entire state

After the success of the pilot project, there is a plan to implement the public bus service on 1540 routes across the state. CM Yogi had already started operating several new buses on 6 September. Now the government is taking fast steps towards providing cheap and accessible transport facilities to the villagers.
