‘Honestly disappointing’: KKR fans slam mentor DJ Bravo for attending CSK event amid injury crisis

New Delhi: Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) fans have slammed the team mentor Dwayne Bravo for attending the Chennai Super Kings’ event. He was spotted in Chennai when the Kolkata-based franchise was battling with an injury crisis ahead of the new IPL season.

CSK posted videos and images of the West Indian all-rounder attending the event on social media. After seeing the pictures, KKR fans lashed out in anger and questioned Bravo’s priorities in such a difficult for the franchise.

Several crucial players have been ruled out ahead of KKR’s opening match, and the fans expected the support staff to be focused on managing the players’ fitness. But Bravo’s presence at a CSK event has frustrated the fanbase. The CSK event featured current and former franchise players playing matches at Chepauk, while AR Rahman will also perform live in Chennai.

Among the KKR’s injury list, Harshit Rana and Akash Deep have been ruled out of the entire season, while Matheesha Pathirana is yet to obtain a No-Objection Certificate (NOC) from the Sri Lanka Cricket Board.

KKR Head Coach Abhishek Nayar has said in the press conference that the management has been evaluating the options, but has yet to make an official decision. Nayar also mentioned that Pathirana is expected to be available to play from mid-April.
