CM Yogi Gorakhpur Visit Tribute Ceremony: CM Yogi Adityanath paid homage to Mahant Digvijaynath and Mahant Avidyanath at Gorakhnath Temple. In the speech, the importance of Guru, the Ram temple movement and the role of Mahantadvay in society and nation building highlighted.
The Gorakhnath Temple courtyard once again became the center of spiritual energy and cultural consciousness on Tuesday, when thousands of devotees paid tribute to the death anniversary of Yugpurush Brahmalin Mahant Digvijaynathji Maharaj and Rashtrasant Brahmalin Mahant Avidyanath Ji Maharaj. On this occasion, Gorakshapeethadhishwar and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath called for taking inspiration from the lives of his former people who carry forward the stream of saint tradition, nation building and social service.
Mahantadvayas who give direction to society and nation
Chief Minister Yogi said that man is the best work of God. If a person is disqualified, the reason for this is that he did not find the right guide. He mentioned the Sanskrit verse “Amantramkshan Nasti …” and said that as every letter has the ability to make a mantra and every vegetation has medicinal properties, in the same way every person is worthy, provided he gets the right guru. He clearly stated that Mahant Digvijaynath and Mahant Awidyanath gave a new direction to the society and the nation while discharging this role.

The family of a monk is society, caste is eternal
Throwing light on the ideals of saint life, Yogi Adityanath said, “The monk is alone. His family is society, the nation is his family and his caste only eternal.” He told that the resolutions of the Brahmalin Mahants of Gorakshpeeth were not just resolutions but a practice, and the result of that is that today the construction of Shri Ram temple in Ayodhya was possible.
Gorakhpur came from the tradition of Maharana Pratap
CM Yogi reminded that Mahant Digvijaynath was born in the heroic tradition of Mewar, who never kneels in front of foreign invaders. He came to Gorakhpur by the tradition of Maharana Pratap and did unique work of education, service and religion for the upliftment of social nation here.
The present form and education revolution of Gorakhnath Temple
Yogi said that Mahant Mahanta was a Digvijaynath, the craftsman of the grand form of Gorakhnath temple. He established the Maharana Pratap Shiksha Parishad in 1932 and donated his degree colleges to lay the foundation of Gorakhpur University. She gave special importance to women’s education and gave a new direction to the society by establishing a girls’ school.
CM Yogi said that both Mahants had resolved to remove the symbols of slavery. The construction of Ram temple in Ayodhya was both his dream and determination, which has come true today.
Resolution of developed India
Chief Minister Yogi, in his address, while mentioning Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s “Developed India” mantra, said that it is not just political resolution, but eternal mantra of India and Indianness. In the program, CM Yogi gave Acharya Prof. Omkarnath Singh’s book ‘Supporting Nature of Indian Culture’ and ‘Discussion’ magazine. Vedapath, Stotra and Saraswati Vandana were also presented in the ceremony as per the traditions of Gorakshpeeth.
