SAN JOSE, Calif. (AP) – The Philadelphia Flyers defeated the San Jose Sharks 4-1 on Saturday, with Christian Dvorak scoring a pivotal tiebreaking goal early in the third period and contributing an assist.

This victory marked the completion of a three-game West Coast sweep for the Flyers.

Owen Tippett opened the scoring in the second period, while defenseman Travis Sanheim and Noah Cates secured empty-net goals in the final moments. The Flyers extended their winning streak to three games and have now won five of their last six, having previously defeated the Anaheim Ducks and Los Angeles Kings in overtime and a shootout, respectively.

Game Highlights

The Flyers started strong, with Tippett netting his 24th goal of the season just over two minutes into the second period. He maneuvered past Sharks defenseman Nick Leddy before beating goaltender Alex Nedeljkovic with a precise shot.

San Jose responded with a power-play goal from Dmitry Orlov, who scored his third of the season at 13:12 in the second period, leveling the score after receiving a pass from William Eklund, assisted also by Macklin Celebrini.

Third Period Surge

Dvorak regained the lead for Philadelphia 1:47 into the third period, capitalizing on a power play after Mario Ferraro was penalized for roughing. Assists on the goal came from Travis Konecny and Matvei Michkov, who achieved his 100th point in the NHL.

In the closing minutes, the Sharks pulled Nedeljkovic for an extra attacker, which allowed the Flyers to capitalize further. Sanheim scored his eighth goal of the season, followed by Cates, who recorded his 15th goal, equaling his career high of 38 points from the previous season.
