In the Aranya Samagam organized in Lucknow on International Forest Day, CM Yogi Adityanath honored the children who saved themselves and their families from leopard attack. Besides, forest workers, social organizations and farmers were also given respect and assistance.

Lucknow. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath honored the children who showed bravery in the ‘Aranya Samagam’ program organized on the occasion of International Forest Day at Indira Gandhi Pratishthan, Lucknow. On this occasion, he visited the exhibition of the Forest Department and also honored the employees and social organizations doing excellent work in the forestry and wildlife sector.

Honor to the children who saved themselves and their families from leopard attack

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath honored 10-year-old Achhelal from Bahraich and 18-year-old Tanu Singh from Prayagraj for their bravery. Achhe Lal was returning home from the fields on bicycle with his father on the evening of 6 December 2025, when suddenly a leopard attacked from the sugarcane field. Achhe Lal showed courage and fought the leopard and saved himself safely, due to which the leopard ran away.

Similarly, on January 8, 2026, a leopard entered a house in village Chhivaiya of Jhunsi area of ​​Prayagraj. Tanu Singh, who was present in the room at that time, showed wisdom and took out two small children safely and locked the leopard in the room. Later the forest department rescued the leopard safely without any loss of life.

Forest department employees honored for their excellent work

In the program, the Chief Minister also honored the employees of the Forest Department who did good work in the field of forestry and wildlife conservation. Employees honored include:

  • Pushpendra Singh, Deputy Regional Forest Officer of Moradabad Forest Division.
  • Sunil Kumar Gond, forest guard of Hamirpur forest division.
  • Shivam Kumar, Forest Guard of Rampur Forest Division
  • Reena Sharma, gardener of Etah Forest Division

All of them were honored with citations.

Social organizations also got respect, contribution in forestry appreciated

The Chief Minister also honored social organizations doing excellent work in the forestry sector. In this sequence, National Organization Minister of Lok Bharti Brijendra Pal Singh and Satyendra Kumar Srivastava of Helping Hands Seva Sansthan, Jhansi were honored.

Farmers got benefits under carbon credit project

During the programme, the Chief Minister distributed checks to two beneficiary farmers under the Carbon Credit Project. These include Ishwar Chand of Kushinagar and Sunita of Rae Bareli, who got direct benefits of this scheme.

CM Yogi visited the exhibition of forest department

Before the start of the program, the Chief Minister visited the exhibition organized by the Forest Department and took information about various schemes and initiatives. During this, Minister of State for Forests (Independent Charge) Dr. Arun Kumar Saxena and Minister of State for Forests KP Malik and many officials were present.

In this program organized on International Forest Day, the message of bravery, environmental protection and society’s participation was given. The Chief Minister described such courageous children and those working in the forest area as a source of inspiration.
