Pregnant Woman Murder: A sensational case of murder of 6 months pregnant woman Pooja Mandal has come to light in North 24 Parganas district of West Bengal. It is alleged that the husband committed the murder, wrapped the body in plastic and hid it under the bed. Police have arrested three people including the husband.
A case has come to light from West Bengal which has shaken the entire area. It is alleged that a husband killed his own pregnant wife and then wrapped her body in plastic and hid it under the bed.
This incident took place in Garulia area of North 24 Parganas district. The deceased woman has been identified as 24-year-old Pooja Mandal, who was six months pregnant. When the police received information on Wednesday evening, his body was recovered from inside the house.
Husband and two in-laws arrested
In this case, the police took immediate action and arrested three people. The arrested accused include Pooja’s husband Rishi Harichand, her mother and another family member. Police have registered a case of murder against all three and they are being interrogated. The body has been sent for postmortem to know the truth of the matter.

Fear of fight over money
Pooja’s parents allege that she was being harassed regarding money since her marriage. The family says that this pressure did not reduce even after becoming pregnant. Initial police investigation has revealed that there was a dispute between the husband and wife over money on Wednesday morning. The investigators suspect that after this quarrel, Rishi might have strangled Pooja with a piece of cloth. After this, it is alleged that to hide the evidence, he wrapped the body in plastic and kept it under the bed.
Unable to contact family
Pooja’s family told that both of them got married about two years ago. Initially the family was not ready for this relationship, but when the news of Pooja’s pregnancy was received, everyone agreed. According to Pooja’s maternal uncle Gautam Biswas, Rishi did not have a permanent job and would often ask Pooja for money.
When the family could not contact Pooja, they became suspicious. When they reached home, Pooja was not found there. After this he informed the police, after which the police searched the house and recovered the body.
Police officials say that considering the seriousness of the case, the investigation is being done rapidly. Neighbors are also being interrogated and evidence is being collected from the house. According to officials, the real cause of death will become clear after the postmortem report comes. At present, the interrogation of the three accused is going on and the police is investigating the case from every aspect.
