Hyundai Exter 2026 launched, check price, features and changes

New Delhi: Hyundai Motor India has rolled out an updated version of the Exter in the country, with prices starting at Rs 5.79 lakh.

The compact SUV segment has been heating up again with the New Tata Punch, and Hyundai seems to be tightening its grip with this refresh.

Design changes

The refreshed Exter gets visible tweaks on the outside. The front and rear bumpers look chunkier, and the grille now has a darker finish.

Key exterior updates include:

  • New front fascia with wider stance
  • Sharper rear design with updated tailgate
  • R15 diamond-cut alloy wheels
  • Wheel arch cladding for a more SUV-like look

The size remains practical for city use, with a 3,830 mm length and 2,450 mm wheelbase. That means it should still be easy to drive in tight roads.

Interior updates

Inside, Hyundai has cleaned things up. The cabin now gets a dual-tone navy and grey theme. It feels more premium than before.

Some notable additions:

  • 3D pattern dashboard
  • D-cut steering wheel
  • Metal pedals
  • 391 litres boot space

I like the small touches here. Things like adjustable headrests and better seat support actually matter more in daily drives.

Tech and features

Hyundai has added more tech this time. There is now a dashcam, which is rare in this segment.

Other features include:

  • Wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay
  • Over 300 voice commands
  • Bluelink connected tech
  • Electric sunroof

Engine options

The Exter continues with the 1.2-litre petrol engine, paired with manual and AMT gearboxes. There is also a CNG option with dual cylinders.

Safety

Hyundai has added multiple safety features, including six airbags, ESC and hill assist as standard across variants.
