It means. ‘Mother of Yogis’. This meaning tells about the divine and spiritual nature of Mother Goddess. This temple is in Alampur city of Jogalba Gadwal district of Telangana. It is believed that the upper row of teeth of Goddess Sati had fallen at the place of Jogulamba Devi temple in Alampur.

While the deity of this temple is considered to be Mother Jogulamba, the deity is ‘Bal Brahmeshwara Swami’. In the temple, Mother Sati is known as Jogulamba Devi. She is also called Tyogamba Devi. Bal Brahmeshwar Swami in the temple is none other than Lord Shiva. Mother Jogulamba is present in a fierce form in this temple. Mother Jogulamba is worshiped for Yoga and Tantra Sadhana. Scorpions, lizards and frogs live on the head of the goddess. Here the Mother Goddess is sitting on the dead body.

According to the legend, after the self-immolation of Goddess Sati, Lord Shiva, in anger, started roaming across the earth carrying her dead body. After this Lord Vishnu divided the body of Goddess Sati with his Sudarshan Chakra. During this time, the upper teeth of Goddess Sati fell in Alampur and Maa Jogulamba Shakti Peeth was established here.
