In such a situation, Eid is being celebrated today in Gulf countries as well as in Tamil Nadu and Kerala of India.

What is the story of Eid-ul-Fitr?

According to Islamic beliefs, the festival of Eid-ul-Fitr is believed to have started in 624 AD. This festival was started by Prophet Hazrat Muhammad in Medina. This was the second year after Hijraat, when the first Ramadan was completed by Muslims. When Prophet Hazrat Muhammad reached Medina, he saw people celebrating two special days. After this he told that there will be two Eids for Muslims – Eid-ul-Fitr and Eid-ul-Azha.
