The arrested girl has been identified as Risana Fathima (18), a resident of Elappara Heileberia, Peerumedu. The boy’s name is Ananthu Prasad (24), a resident of Iramallur, Kothamangalam. Police have arrested both the accused.
Took admission in college, then became a drugs peddler
Due to the assembly elections in Kerala, the Excise Department is running a special drive. Meanwhile, Excise Range Inspector Pramod M.P. in Kothamangalam Town. And his team was checking when both of them were caught. The officials have also seized three mobile phones from them, which were used in the drug trade. The Excise Department said that Risana, a resident of Idukki, had come to study in a private professional college in Kothamangalam. But within a few months, she left her studies and got into the business of selling drugs.
Used to supply drugs by staying in expensive hotels
The accused used to deal in drugs by staying in rooms of an expensive hotel. The daily rent for these rooms was around Rs 3,000. At present, both of them were produced in the Kothamangalam Judicial First Class Magistrate Court, from where they have been sent to judicial custody.
