Due to injury to Pat Cummins, Sunrisers Hyderabad has appointed Ishan Kishan as its temporary captain. Cummins will not be able to take part in the first few matches of the tournament due to injury, due to which there have been changes in the leadership group of the team.
Ishan Kishan has been appointed as its captain by Sunrisers Hyderabad, while Abhishek Sharma will take over the responsibility of vice-captaincy. An amazing coincidence has happened in IPL as soon as Ishan Kishan became the captain. This will be the first time in the history of IPL that the captains of all 10 teams will be Indians. Yes, this has never happened before in the history of the tournament.
Talking about the last two seasons, in 2024, Faf Duplessis and Pat Cummins, as foreign players, led Royal Challengers Bangalore and Sunrisers Hyderabad respectively. Whereas in 2025, Pat Cummins was the only foreign captain.
Now that Pat Cummins is not playing the first few matches of the tournament due to injury, 10 out of 10 Indian captains will be seen in the photoshoot of the IPL 2026 trophy.
