New Delhi: Trouble seems to be mounting for Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) pacer Yash Dayal as he has been booked under Section 69 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) after a woman from Ghaziabad levelled serious allegations of sexual harassment and physical assault, and exploitation against him. The FIR was registered at the Indirapuram police station on the basis of allegations made by Ujjwala Singh, a resident of Indirapuram, Ghaziabad.
Ujjwala had earlier filed a complaint on the Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister’s online grievance portal, IGRS, levelling similar allegations against the 25-year-old cricketer. She also took to social media to share a screenshot of her complaint on the portal and demanded justice from UP CM Yogi Adityanath. The woman had also claimed that she had sufficient evidence against the RCB pacer in the form of photos, videos, chats and screenshots.
As per a report in India Today, in her complaint, the woman has alleged that she was in a five-year relationship with Dayal, during which the RCB cricketer exploited her physically and mentally on the false pretext of marriage. She alleged that Dayal introduced her to his family and behaved as if they were married.
However, the cricketer subjected her to physical violence and harassment when she confronted him about his intentions. The cricketer allegedly became violent and harassed her after the confrontation. Ujjwala also alleged that the cricketer took money from her and exploited her financially during their relationship and that he was doing the same with multiple girls.
Under Section 69 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, Dayal can face up to ten years in prison for fraud and exploitation on the false pretext of marriage, if the allegations are proven right. As per the news agency IANS, the Indirapuram police registered an FIR against the pacer after finding sufficient evidence against him. Further ivestigation is underway in the case.
