The second day of Navratri has been dedicated to Maa Brahmacharini, the second form of Goddess Durga. Today is the day of worship of Mother Brahmacharini. Brahma means penance and Charini means goddess who conducts. This form of mother is also the unmarried form of Goddess Parvati. Devotees worship Goddess Brahmacharini as per the rituals during Navratri.
There is a religious belief that after being pleased with the worship, Mother Goddess bestows the blessings of knowledge, wealth and self-confidence on her devotees. Especially the students who are facing career problems or those who are struggling in life, they must worship Mata Brahmacharini. At the time of puja, food is offered to the mother goddess. Mata Brahmacharini Puja Vidhi
- On the second day of Navratri, take bath and wear clean clothes.
- Place a picture or statue of Maa Brahmacharini on the post.
- After this, purify with Ganga water.
- Offer them Akshat, Roli flowers and Panchamrit.
- Perform the puja properly by lighting lamps and incense sticks.
- Chant mother’s mantras and read the story.
- At the end, perform aarti of Maa and distribute Prasad.

It is told in Devi Bhagwat Purana that the offering of sugar is very dear to the Mother Goddess. Therefore, sugar should be offered to the mother at the time of worship. It is believed that this increases lifespan and brings happiness and prosperity to the family. Apart from sugar, fruits and Panchamrit can be offered to Mata Brahmacharini.
