A meeting of foreign ministers of major Arab and Islamic countries was held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, in which foreign ministers of Azerbaijan, Bahrain, Egypt, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Pakistan, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Syria, Turkey and UAE participated.

Strict warning to Iran from 12 Islamic countries

After the meeting, 12 Muslim countries issued a joint statement asking Iran to immediately stop the attacks. These countries stressed that Iran should comply with United Nations Security Council (UNGC) resolution 2817 (2026). This proposal demands an immediate end to all types of attacks.

Demand to stop provocative action and militia support

The statement said that Iran should immediately stop any kind of threatening or provocative action against neighboring countries. Along with this, a demand was also made to immediately stop supporting, funding and providing weapons to militias in Arab countries. These countries say that Iran is doing all this for its own interests, which is against the interests of other countries.

Concern also expressed on maritime security

Arab Muslim countries asked Iran not to try to disrupt international shipping in the Strait of Hormuz. Apart from this, a warning was also given to avoid endangering the maritime security in the Bab al-Mandab area. The meeting strongly condemned the ballistic missile and drone attacks carried out by Iran. It was reported that residential areas and civilian infrastructure were targeted in these attacks. Oil plants, factories, airports, residential buildings and embassies were attacked.

Emphasis on the right to self-defense

Ministers of all Muslim countries, citing Article 51 of the United Nations Charter, said that every country has the right to self-defense for its own security. He clearly said that such attacks cannot be justified under any circumstances. At the end of the meeting, all the countries talked about continuous discussion and coordination on this issue. Its objective is to monitor the situation, formulate a common strategy and take necessary steps to protect its security, stability and sovereignty, so that peace is maintained in the region.
