Alia Bhatt-backed ‘Don’t Be Shy’ poster unveiled; reveals the cast are ‘outsiders’

Mumbai: Prime Video on Thursday unveiled the official poster of the film Don’t Be Shy at the ‘It Starts Here’ event. The movie is backed by Alia Bhatt and Shaheen Bhatt. The first look at the poster revealed four youngsters. The colours and design of the poster showcased youthfulness and vibrancy. It suggests that the story would explore themes of friendship, identity and self-expression.

During the launch, Karan Johar interacted with the brains behind the film. Though Karan asked Alia about the cast. She digressed and added that the names of the actors would be revealed at the right time. It was then that Karan took a jibe at nepotism and asked Alia if they were “outsiders”.  She revealed they were.

Shaheen talked about how they fell in love with the story and were happy they could be a part of it.

The film, directed by Sreeti Mukerji and produced under an Eternal Sunshine Production in association with Chalkboard Entertainment, tells the story of Shyamili ‘Shy’ Das, a 20-year-old who thinks she has got her whole life planned out. However, her life takes an unexpected turn, altering the youngster’s life suddenly.

The film explores how the youngster deals with a life which has re-routed itself. The film is co-produced by Grishma Shah and Vikesh Bhutani. Sreeti Mukerji is the brain behind the story and screenplay. Sehaj Kaur Maini contributed to the dialogues and additional screenplay by Sehaj Kaur Maini.

The film is part of Prime Video’s strategy to create a long list of original films and series for 2026. The event saw the presence of a long list of Bollywood stars.
