New Delhi: The Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS) will begin the Balvatika and Class 1 admission application process for the 2026-27 academic session. The registrations will start at 10 AM. The last date for online applications is April 2. The online application form will be available on the official Kendriya Vidyalaya website, kvsadmission.co.in. No fees are charged for applying online to Kendriya Vidyalayas.
A selection list will be released after the application process ends. Students whose names will be on the list need to submit the necessary documents to the respective school. Only after payment of the final fee the academic classes will begin.
Age limit for KVS admission
- Class 1: 6 years but below 8 years of age
- Class 2: 7 years but less than 9 years of age
- Class 3: 8 years but below 10 years of age
- Class 4: 9 years but below 11 years
- Class 5: 10 years but below 12 years of age
- Class 6: 10 years but below 12 years of age
Documents required for KVS admission
- Birth certificate or proof of date of birth
- Passport-sized photo of the child
- Aadhaar cards for both the child and parents
- Residence certificate
- SC, ST or OBC certificate
- Economically Weaker Section (EWS) or Below Poverty Line (BPL) certificate.
- In case of a single girl child, an affidavit is required
- Employee service certificate
- Proof of the parents’ relationship to the grandparents
KVS admission selection process
KVS do not conduct written exams or interviews for Class 1 admissions. Students are admitted based on a lottery system. After the first list is released, students need to submit the required documents to their respective Kendriya Vidyalayas. Only after payment of the prescribed fee admissions will be confirmed.
KVS admission seat reservation
For KVS Class 1 admission, 25 per cent seats are reserved under RTE, while 15 per cent reserved for Scheduled Castes (SC), 7.5 per cent for Scheduled Tribe (ST) and 27 per cent for Other Backward Class Non-Creamy Layer (OBC-NCL).
