Prices have increased before

Amid supply disruptions, the government has increased the prices of both domestic and commercial LPG cylinders. In early March, the price of a 14.2 kg domestic cooking gas cylinder increased by Rs 60, while the price of a 19 kg commercial cylinder increased by Rs 144 in major cities of the country.

Amidst the deepening tension in the Middle East, oil prices increased by more than 5% and crossed $108 per barrel in international markets today. However, on Sunday, March 19, the prices of petrol and diesel remained almost stable in many cities of India. Despite huge fluctuations in global oil markets due to ongoing geopolitical tensions in the region, prices remained stable.
