UP Rain Alert: Heavy Downpour Likely In Ballia, Deoria, Gorakhpur, Other Districts Till July 22; Check IMD Forecast

UP Weather Update: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) stated that several districts of Uttar Pradesh are likely to witness rain in the coming days.

After days of scorching heat, the rain activities in the last two days have provided much-needed relief by reducing the temperature. Along with rain, several regions are also expected to witness thunderstorms, gusty winds, and lightning. The residents have been advised to follow the guidelines and plan their days accordingly.

Rain Likely In These Districts

As per the weather department, several districts, including Ballia, Deoria, Gorakhpur, Sant Kabir Nagar, Kushinagar, Maharajganj, Siddharthnagar, and Balrampur, are set to witness extremely heavy rain on Saturday. Apart from this, light rain with thunderstorms and lightning is likely in over 40 districts, including the capital city Lucknow. The farmers have been advised to not hide beneath big trees and electricity poles to ensure safety.

The senior meteorologist Atul Kumar Singh, while providing details, stated that monsoon will have the greatest impact in eastern parts of the state. The weather department asserted that extremely heavy rainfall is expected in several districts on Sunday.

Rain Expected Till July 22

In its advisory, the IMD stated that heavy rain is likely in several districts, including Ghazipur, Azamgarh, Mau, Gonda, Shravasti, Bahraich, Lakhimpur, Sitapur, Barabanki, Sultanpur, Ayodhya, Ambedkar Nagar, and Moradabad are likely to witness moderate to heavy rainfall in the coming days.

The IMD stated that the rain activities will continue until July 22, adding that the maximum temperature is likely to drop by eight degrees Celsius during this period. While the residents of Lucknow witnessed cloudy skies on Friday, there was no rainfall; however, a heavy downpour is likely in the coming days.

As per the weather department, the maximum temperature remained around 35 degrees Celsius, providing much-needed relief from heat. Along with Uttar Pradesh, several other states, including Delhi, Bihar, and Madhya Pradesh, are also likely to witness rainfall.
