Chaitra Navratri 2026: The holy festival of Chaitra Navratri is starting from tomorrow. This Navratri will end on 27th March. Kalash is established on the first day of Navratri. This is the most important part of this festival. Mother Durga is invoked by setting up the Kalash. Kalash Sthapana is done for full nine days.
In such a situation, if you are going to install Kalash for the first time during Navratri, then it is important for you to know all the things related to it. Because setting up the Kalash is a very sacred work. During this period, do not make any mistake even by mistake. Otherwise Mother Durga may get angry.
Rules for setting up Kalash (Chaitra Navratri 2026 Kalash Establishment Rules)
On Navratri, install the Kalash while inviting Goddess Durga to your home, i.e. invoking her. For this, follow the auspicious time and correct method. Establish the Kalash in the North-East direction only. Do not worship in the south or west direction. Take only the earthen pot below the Kalash. Sow barley in it. The Kalash should be of copper, gold, silver or clay only. Before installing the Kalash, purify the place of worship by sprinkling Ganga water. Never touch the Kalash with dirty hands or in an impure condition.
The most important thing is that after the Navratri Kalash is installed in the house, do not bring vengeful things like garlic, onion, non-veg, intoxicants etc. into the house nor consume them. Otherwise Mother Durga may get angry.
Auspicious time for establishing Kalash (Chaitra Navratri 2026 Kalash Sthapana Subh Muhurat)
- The auspicious time for setting up the Kalash of Chaitra Navratri will start at 06.52 am. This auspicious time will last till 07:43 in the morning.
- Abhijeet Muhurta will be from 12:05 pm to 12:53 pm. If for some reason you are not able to install the Kalash in the morning, then do it during this auspicious time.
